Il progetto TEMPLE OF VENUS nasce a Bologna nel lontano 1984. Si narra che il nome sia tra quelli scartati dai Joy Division prima di rinominarsi New Order. Con tali riferimenti, la band non poteva che legarsi alla new-wave dei primi anni '80, proponendo sempre ed orgogliosamente testi in inglese. Una scelta difficile, a dispetto di mode e convenienze nostrane, che ha aperto però prospettive verso l'estero dove i nostri dischi sono sempre stati apprezzati.

ABOUT US

TEMPLE OF VENUS, italian new-wave legend, take birth in Bologna (ITALIA) in the far 1984. People say we owe our name to the legendary Joy Division, as it was among the discarded ones before they rename themselves as New Order. As you probably guess, the band plays new-wave straight from the 80's, proudly in english language. A hard challenge to take for an italian band, but gratified by the good reviews we had either in Italy and abroad.

Ma il presente dei TEMPLE OF VENUS si chiama MESSIAH COMPLEX. Il nuovo cd, Frutto di 4 anni di lavoro, rappresenta l'ennesimo punto di svolta della nostra carriera artistica. La musica dei TEMPLE OF VENUS si è ancora una volta evoluta verso nuove frontiere musicali, sicuramente di grande impatto, con un grande impiego di strumenti elettronici a valorizzare le parti di voce, chitarra e basso. MESSIAH COMPLEX e' di fatto un concept album e narra le avventure di SANDY the Sugar Sandman, novello Silver Surfer a cavallo tra introspezione, viaggi fantastici e realta' distorte. Il cd e' stato preceduto da alcune ottime prestazioni live tra cui spiccano un paio di mini-tour in alcuni club di Londra. Da segnalare infine il pregevole artwork curato insieme a Luca Nieddu e stampato dalla RE-FINE di Londra.

But now, the present of TEMPLE OF VENUS is called MESSIAH COMPLEX. The new CD, the result of 4 years of work, represents another turning point in our artistic career. TEMPLE OF VENUS' music once again has evolved towards new musical frontiers, a big mojo, using even more electronical instruments to support and enlighten vocals, guitars and bass parts. MESSIAH COMPLEX is a concept album, playing the adventures of SANDY the Sugar Sandman, a sort of a new Silver Surfer riding among introspection, fantastic voyages and distorted realities. The album was preceded by some great live performances, including a couple of mini-tours in London clubs. Truly remarkable the artwork cover by Luca Nieddu and the printing carried out by RE-FINE Group of London.
